The way the holidays worked out on the calendar, I was able to use a bunch of sick days and get a good block of time off from work. So we loaded up the MOG and headed to one of our favorite places, Anza Borrego in California. The drive there took most of the day, but by evening we had driven up a sand wash and parked for the night.
We cooked diner and enjoyed a campfire under the desert stars and a nearly full moon.
The next day we were greeted by a very nice sunrise.
It took a while for the sun to warm up the landscape.
But once it did we took short walks and enjoyed the solitude.
The MOG waited patiently.
Later as the sun began to set, we were treated to some amazing colors.
They kept getting more and more intense.
We sat around enjoying the sunset.
Eventually it got dark and we had another campfire.
Then the moon came out again…
